«Folk Art of the ХХІ Century: Actual Research Directions»

The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Ethnology Institute of the NAS of Ukraine, Folk Art Department, the Association of Critics and Art Historians invite proposals for participation by art historians and critics, ethnologists, social anthropologists, cultorologists, sociologists, philologists, museum workers and scholars in other related disciplines and fields of study researching the folk art of the end of the XX — early XXI centuries.
The Conference Aim — to popularize of folk art national features and spiritual value, to discover and investigate its current problems, to direct scientific research into creative practices` needs of the XXI century.
The conference participants will discuss of such issues (Possible topics include):
1. Folk art in interdisciplinary discourses: theory, methodology, terminology.
2. Location and the role of folk art in the XXI century cultural space: centers, masters, artistic ideas.
3. Folk art in educational institutional practices.
4. Folk and academic art: relationships and interactions.
5. Preservation and popularization of folk art museum and private collections.
6. Reviews, events, anniversaries.
Conference languages: Ukrainian, English.
Participation in the conference: correspondence.
The application with title and abstract (2500―3500 characters, spaces included) should be sent by August 30, 2019. (Annex 1). The papers should be sent after approval the theme by conference committee.
Only the papers submitted to the e-mail folkarts.lviv@gmail.com marked «Conference» by September 30 2019 will be included in the conference program. The author of the manuscript is responsible for the materials` scientific novelty and guarantees the absence of scientific plagiarism.
The papers contributions predestined in accordance with the requirements of «The Ethnology Notebooks» magazine will be published. The requirements: http://nz.ethnology.lviv.ua/avtoram/.
Basic requirements:
The paper volume including abstracts, reference and notes, can not exceed 40,000 characters with spaces (about 15 pages of typed text).
Conference participants without scientific degree are required to send with their paper the paper review certified by candidate or doctor of sciences (expert in the scientific field) with the novelty, relevance and professional level of the submitted materials. The reviewer`s signature has to be certified by the seal of the institution or its stuff department.
Not published previously materials are accepted for consideration. The conference committee reserves the right to reject the texts do not correspond to the conference theme, scientific criteria and standards for submitted. All manuscripts will be reviewed.
The paper publication for the conference participants is free.
